The
good news is: that we love good news!
We
have completed and sent, the last three documents we needed for a
complete dossier to Ukraine, and they have arrived! The next step is
for our facilitator to translate and submit all of our paperwork to
Ukraine, and then we sit and watch our email like a hawk for an invitation to meet with Ukraine's adoptive authorities. From what I
understand, this should take about four weeks from the time the
paperwork is formally submitted.
That being said, I can
not express to you how GLAD I am to be moving on to this next step -
oh my goodness!
And
now the real crazy stuff happens, as we watch our Lord PROVIDE in only
the way he can, and all to His glory!
We
are going to be kicking of a few different fundraisers this week.
T-shirts, of course, will be coming soon (after all, you can't have
a fundraiser without T-shirts!) And if you look on the side-bar, you'll see a link to our BBQ plate fundraiser from the
Kickin' Pig, here in Rock Hill! (probably the tastiest good ol'
fashioned southern BBQ I have ever had; and I'm not kidding!)
There's a bit of a twist on this one though. This is also a virtual
BBQ dinner. Anyone in the Rock Hill/Charlotte area that would like to
order a plate for themselves and family, is more than welcome to do
so, and can pick up their meals on February 23rd between 3 and 5:30
pm (details to come). But I don't want this to be limited to just our
area, and just our family - I want it to help others in our community
too! The twin goal of this fundraiser is to be able to donate as many
dinners as possible to Pilgrim's Inn, which is our local Women and
Children's homeless shelter. Would you consider buying at least 2
plates if you're not ordering a meal a meal for yourself, and at
least 1 extra if you are? I want to show these women they are loved
and not forgotten!! And it's as easy as clicking on the link to order :)
Here's
the really cool part. Colleen Brannon, down at our local radio
station, (WRHI AM 1340, FM 94.3) heard about Rachel and our Virtual
BBQ fundraiser to help bring her home, and they want to interview me,
Monday morning (Feb 4th), at 8:40! Colleen will be doing the
interview (http://www.wrhi.com/about/staff/colleen-brannon)
and I'm really looking forward to it, so tune in!
