HUMBLED

Those that know me, know I will work myself to the bone and sacrifice much for the sake of others; not because I seek pats on the back, but just because I love to see people succeed and I love being a part of the process for them. Oh, but when I'm the one who needs the help...SO EMBARRASSING! Isn't that just the silliest? Ugly pride is what that is.

I just want to publicly thank the families who donated to us over the last few days. You know who you are - thank you, thank you, thank you! $5, $50, $30, $25; all HUGE donations to me. Not just from a monetary standpoint, but also for my stamina. I feel so very encouraged today. I believe it's the simple things in life that make us feel the most grateful.

One of the biggest blessings for us while we wade through this process, has been to be able to 'talk' with Rachel through Facebook messages. Little did I know how important setting her up with a Facebook account before she left would be! I know that this has been the constant that has kept her hopes up. That we have NOT forgotten her over these 12 months, and it enables us to constantly remind her of how much she is wanted and loved! Here's the message she sent today:

"Mam! I miss all of you i remember all those days i spent with you. I love you very much аnd want you quickly come to UKRAINE!"

Hang in there Sweetheart - God will make a way!

  1. I can't wait until she's home with you. Please tell me, what is the money for and why does the fundraiser box say it ends on January 31st?

  2. Thank you for your interest! We are raising money for our travels to and from to Ukraine and our agency fees associated with the adoption; we will actually need much more that $5,000, but I figured it's a good place to start! The ending date is January 31st simply because I could not get the program to end it on February 31 (which is closer to the dates we will probably travel.)
